The Power of Tai Chi — Made Accessible.

Hi, I’m Malcolm

—welcome to Five Winds Tai Chi.

Feeling stiff, stressed, or stuck in your body? Looking for something that builds strength, balance, and mental clarity—without needing to be flexible or fit?

Tai Chi might be exactly what you’re looking for.

At Five Winds Tai Chi, we teach the real thing—a complete system that improves your health, movement, and mental focus while also connecting back to its martial arts roots. Whether you’re here for stress relief, strength, or self-defense, Tai Chi meets you where you are.

For over 30 years, I’ve trained under Ian Cameron, one of the UK’s most respected Tai Chi instructors. He preserved a rare and comprehensive system—one that blends traditional wisdom with practical movement.

Here, you’ll start with simple, structured movements before progressing into fluid, effortless motion. Some people take our short course and get exactly what they need. Others go deeper—exploring pushing hands, self-defense, weapons training, and internal strength (Nei Gung). Whatever path you take, you’ll be guided step by step, in person or online.

This isn’t just exercise. It’s a lifelong practice—one that will help you move better, feel stronger, and stay centered, no matter your age or experience.

There’s a place for you here. Let’s get started.

LEARN MORE

Why Tai Chi? Why Us?  Here’s Why It Matters.

Tai Chi wasn’t created as gentle exercise — it’s a martial art. And that’s why it works.

Tai Chi offers countless benefits — but learning it the right way makes all the difference.

Whether you’re looking to improve balance, reduce stress, or develop lifelong strength, the right training approach will shape your journey.

Explore why Tai Chi is a practice for life—and why our method is designed to help you succeed.

This is Tai Chi with purpose.

Precision in movement.

Strength in softness.

And a lineage that connects you to something real.

The forms are clean, the structure is clear, and the method is deep.

It’s not mystical. It’s not watered down. It’s not a random blend of styles.

Its real Tai Chi — forged through martial testing, structured teaching, and decades of refinement.

It’s not always easy.

But it’s always worth it.

If you’re looking for something deeper — something that can carry you for life — you’re in the right place.
